      Actually in Carlos Malo on Roosevelt the house next door to Lola’s Market is the first home our parents owned; Victor was born there. Then across the street you can the building of the old pool hall. You can ask store owners, Ofie and Connie about it. And plan to eat something there; muy bueno!

I loved your book “Trece Sentidos”, I read this book like 2 years ago, and today I started to read “Burro Genio”, I don’t have to much information about your books but when I started Trece Sentidos I felt like you were a part of my family, and I feel so identified with you on a lot of things. I would like to be a part of some of your talks but unfortunately for me I can’t!! do you have any invitation for a talk in Georgia?     Hello Victor, I just recently read your book Burro Genius. It was book we had to read for my college class. I have to say i am not a person who loves to read but once i started reading i couldn’t stop. I can’t express how much i loved and enjoyed this book. I look forward to reading many more of your books. I just want to congratulate you and your family with all your success and happiness. This book really made me look at life in a very different way.           I’m not sure if they’ll have a table for him to sign books as it’s a formal dinner. Usually at events they have his books for sale too, but won’t here because the program doesn’t allow time. Probably if you take one book, you might get it signed. You can mail a couple of books to Victor to sign: 1302 Stewart St., Oceanside, CA 92054. Just include name to be signed, and enclose an addressed, stamped return box/envelope.

    Honored to have been guided to the book “Rain Of Gold”. The book was given to me by a spirit brother in the beginning of my spiritual walk in 2011. Raised in a broken spirit environment where education was unknown to be a tool for future success. This book has been an uplifting visual and spiritual remembrance of my Grandmother. Unlocking memories of my visits to my homeland Los Nogales, Chihuahua, Mexico.

    I had only read the first chapter of the book and put it down. Having other interest few months past I found out what Indian descendant my grandfather was from “Tarahumara” and in the mist of searching for a special gift my oldest child I was attracted to handmade dolls and other artifacts made by Tarahumara Indians. The store clerk recommended I read Rain of Gold my eyes lit up in shock of haven been setting on this book. I must say having the interest and it being the right time I enjoy every part, extremely overwhelmed in excitement something I’ve never felt in my heart and soul.

    Thank you very very much, hope for the opportunity to meet one day.

    Hi. Will Victor have any public seminars or book signings in san bernardino or los angeles anyyime soon? I know the los angeles times book fair just passed and was not able to find out if he had attended but it would be a great honor to meet him. Victor is the reason i finished highschool. :)

      Victor isn’t scheduled in San Bernardino/LA areas in the near future. But, since you must be in the area, maybe you and family/friends can mark your calendars and attend his annual potluck in Oceanside. It’s always the Sunday before Thanksgiving – it’s a real fun afternoon; great people, and would be worth the drive. Will have more info on site as time nears. Please try and make it a plan!

      Regretfully, it is not open the public – thanks for asking. If you live in the LA area, it would be a pretty easy drive to Oceanside for Victor’s annual potluck.     Sooo sorry I missed you in MN. My sister gave me Rain of Gold years ago but I didn’t get it read til after she died of brain cancer i Jan of2008. I taught Spanish and love Mexico. The book is one of my very.favorites. Gave a copy to a former student who is student teaching Spanish now ….graduating in May. I feel the story shows the powers of women!!!!!

    Hello, Victor we met at a talk you gave at the Carlsbad Library a couple of years ago. I was the guy from the San Diego Wild Animal Park, I discussed with you after the book signing about where your father kept his big whiskey stil in the San Pasqual Valley. After reading your book “The Rain Of Gold”, I did some asking around and found out that the local Sheriff, as you wrote in your book had turned in your dad to the FBI, because you wouldn’t let him date your sister-in-law.The location was at the far Northeast corner of the old monorail ride we use to have. I mentioned the location was called Whiskey Springs because of the whiskey that ran down the creek and under the monorail track.
    The reason I’m writing is that my wife and I wanted to know if there was going to be a movie by HBO about the “Rain Of Gold” ? At the signing you mentioned you had just gotten the nod from HBO about the movie being made and we have been waiting. You also by the way inspired me to write a book about my 40 years of adventures of work at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. And for that I thank you.

      Linda, Victor’s sister, here. Thanks for the info; I’ll let him know. About the HBO, yes, it will be a 7 episode miniseries. The wheels have been turning slowly.. now, moving into faster gear. We’re told filming will begin this fall, then the series will air fall 2013. Thanks for asking.

    I have recently finished reading Rain Of Gold. Needless to say. I’m hooked!! I have already turned some of my friends into fans.

    I am currently reading “Beyond Rain of Gold” the seventh book by Victor Villasenor I have so far read, and I pray he will live many, many more years so that he may continue his wonderful writing. Many of my high school students have read his books…….. Once they get started, they become avid readers in their personal quest for truth and meaning!

    I read Rain of Gold and met Senor Villasenor in Phoenix Az. I was so impressed by what he wrote and felt the rain as he told it . It is a must read for all and I have given many copies away ( except the one he signed for me). Victor , Thank you for your gift of humbleness and pride in humanity.           Thirteen Senses and Wild Steps of Heaven are available on audio cassette – check Amazon or B&N. And I’ve been told Rain of Gold audio is available thru the Library of Congress. Hope this helps.

    Can anyone provide me with some feedback about the speaking events in Sand Diego? I would like to fly my mother from Seattle, WA to San Diego to hear Mr. Villasenor (she loves, loves his books), but I want to be sure that she will actually be able to hear him speak. I fear that if I get her to an event, we would have to wait in a long line and might not be able to get into the event (????), so if anyone has any experience about speaking events in the various San Diego venues, I would really appreciate it.
